There was a good turnout for the Worthing half marathon with eleven running from Uckfield. The is a flat course, the weather was cold but dry but he westerly wind made it hard running westwards along the seafront to Groing. First home was Stewart Gasson with a time of 1hr 37:19 followed by Graham West 1hr 38:07 and the first lady from Uckfield Tara Twyman in 1hr 44:09. For four of our runners Tosca Anstis, Nikki Kindon, Sara Patience and Lauren Scordilas this was their first half marathon. To make up the 11 also running were Dayle Bryant, Joanne Thornton, Samantha Kedwards and Christopher Lugg. In true Uckfield Runers tradition the run was followed by Fish and chips, it is after all the seaside.
