As it was the last Tuesday club run before Christmas a Christmas theme was adopted with our runners exhibiting varous Santa Hats, Tinsle, Fairy wings and even a tutu with lights. We then ran around Uckfield checking out the best Christmas light displays. There were certainly some impressive displays, of lights, Santas, Christmas messages, Reindeer and Polar bears. Have a good Christmas.

Well we don't just run so for a change here is a pictures of people eating and dancing instead of running. No prizes for identifying the stars on the stage. Dancing pictures were taken with a phone so apologise for the picture. Good food, wine, music and company made for a very good recent. Trophies were awarded for highest scoring man and lady in the Sussex Grand Prix with Graham West winning the Mens and Catherine Harker the ladies. Please see Photos for more pictures from the night. Back to normal on Sunday (after allowing time to recover: recovery is always important to runners) with groups running the Buxted Lanes, Ashdown Forest and the Conveyor belt run depending on preference.

It was cold but bright day which saw a good turnout from Uckfield with 5 ladies and 5 men. Crowborough is not the fastest of courses with 2 laps of a course which mainly consists of one big hill (it is a 'Marillyn' and I understand the only Urban Marillyn in the Country, a Marillyn is a hill with a rise of at least 150m from its base). First home for the men as Mark Slaughter followed by Graham West. Jo Oulton was first lady (pictured) from Uckfield Runners followed by Jenny Graham. Making up the 10 was James Morrall, Shaun Furlong, Ryan West, Peter Wilkes, Kirsty Simpkins, Tanya Edmondson and Sarah Cozens. Well done to everyone. More photos on the photos page and results for our runners on the results page.

Could not have been a better day for the Brighton 10k. In spite of it being November the sun shone the weather was warm and no wind. This is a fast flat course but being on the Seafront is very vulnerable to the elements: on day like this it is a really good race. Running from Uckfield were Graham West (pictured) 43.45, Catherine Harker 50.06, Sarah Ballinger 54.53, Lynne Mckay 57.57 and Milly Edmondson 64.09.
Tanya Edmondson travelled a little further to complete the Valencia Marathon in a very credible 4 hours 35min whilst Ray Edmondson completed the Valencia 10k in 61minute. Well done Tanya and Ray.

Another glorious sunny day in spite of it now being November. With views of the sea what more could you want: OK and escalator to take us back up the hill might have been useful. Just the one hill on this one: two miles down and then two miles backup.
It was a good turnout for Uckfield with Graham, Ryan, Chris, Catherine, Peter, Tanya, Adele and Milly all turning out for the club. Ryan again missing out on the team photo (OK Ryan I will agree it with your agency first next time) along with Chris and Catherine. More photos on the photo tab. Overall the joint Uckfield/Heathfield team finished fourth behind Lewes, Hailsham and Eastbourne. With the fifth place in the first event we have now moved up to fourth overall out of the nine teams in the league. Well done everyone. Individual results are on the results tab.
Also well done to Anita Leigh for completing the Bexhill Half Marathon on the same day: her first half marathon.
