A good turnout for this event. Having been spoiled with a mild October until Friday 26 October all change for Beachy with temperatures at the start of 2c and a biting North Wind. Having run to date in shorts and vest or T Shirt out come the tracksters, hat, gloves and long sleeve top. Still it was bright and mostly dry, except for sleet at about 1.40pm driven by wind which meant it hurt, all apart from Rachael (pictured) who finished quick enough to miss the onslaught. Racheal (pictured finishing and still some how looking good) lead us all home with an amazing time of 4hours 36, 11 minutes off her personal best. Hen also had an excellent run finishing in 5hours 39 mins and incredible 44 mins off her personal best. Well done to both Rachael and Hen. Also running and tackling both the hills and conditions were Graham, Will, Fleur, Emma H, Caley and Judith, guys heavily outnumbered by the girls on this one. More Photos on the Photos Page and times on the results page.
Congratulations also to Lynne who ran The Great South Run in Portsmouth, here first 10 miler.

Again the weather forecast earlier in the week had promised sun on Saturday and rain on Sunday, and again fortunately all change for the day, blue skies seafront location little wind what more could you want. Quite a good turn with Seven of our Runners, Garry, Graham, Dan, Ryan, Peter, Tanya and Christine (Ryan missing out on the team photo). Good to see some of our newer runners Dan, Ryan and Christine running for the club at the is event. We run as part of a joint team and filled all 15 (Heathfield had 25 runners) of the categories which make up a team (10men, 5 ladies and various age categories in each). We finished fifth out of the 10 teams, which given the strength of the other clubs in the league was a respectable finish. Well done to everyone who attended. It was excellent day and good to participate in and event as a team. Hopefully a few more will be able to attend the next race. See results tab for times and photo tab for more pictures.

The weather forecast earlier in the week for this weekend had promised sun on Saturday and rain on Sunday, fortunately all change for the day, greated by blue skys boosted the spirits as we lined up for this scenic run over the downland just north of Lewes. Starts by the old race course at Lewes. There is a 5 mile and 10 mile. The start is the same, the 5mile goes up the first hill and back down whilst the 10 mile, descends into the valley up a second hill than back into a second valley where any hope of keeping your shoes clean rapidly disapeared, finally a third hill then descend to finish. Tea and cake gratefully provided by Peter at the end. A very pleasant run.
10 mile: Graham West 1hr 22.55, David Gibb 1hr 33.41, Peter Wilkes 1hr 46.38, Tanya Edmondson 1hr 46.39
5 mile: Christine Tait 46.57, Ray Edmondson 50.33
