Ten of our runners battled the winds on the Eastbourne half marathon. This is the first Sussex Grand Prix of the year. The course is mostly flat but there is pretty mean hill from 2 mile to 3.5 mile before a quicke descent to the seafront. Seafront courses are great, generally flat and scenic but offer no protection from the wind. The full force of the wind hit you from about 11 mile to 12.5 after coming out from the marina back onto the seafront heading west running today were Richard Coates 1hr 35.06, Andy Taylor 1hr 38.36, Graham West 1hr 28.51, Max Williams 1hr 47.11 (First half marathon), Stewart Gasson 1hr 47.37, Jason Remington 1hr 52.49, Chris Lugg 1hr 58.36, Samantha Kedwards 2hrs 03.24 (PB), Sue Collett 2hrs 21.20 and Michael Hill 2hrs 40.36.
There we also a few runners out on the Eastbourne Parkrun on Saturday: Graham West 27.27, Rebecca Holden 29.42, Lindsey Griffiths 30.43, Sara Patience 30.53, Lorraine West 45.22. Well done to Rebecca for getting under 30 minutes and Lindsey and Sara not far off it: next time maybe. Lorraine improved by about 2 minutes from last week just missing out on her target of 45 minutes.

Well done to everyone who ran the Brighton half marathon today, great turnout with 10 runners: Dan Sims, Darren King, Graham West, Jamie Fox, Christine Tait, Laura Grove, Becky Pettitt, Kathleen Gore, Frances Baily and Gemma Horscroft. This was Gemma's first half marathon. Bit a wind today really noticed it heading out towards Hover but nice with it on your back for the last 3 miles. Times are on the results tab.

Heathfield Park was a new course this year for the Sunday Cross Country League. It was a hilly and very scenic run through woodland on a mix of gravel tracks and muddy paths with some tarmac. A great course and cake afterwards, what more could you want (actually a bit of sun would have been nice). There was good turnout from Uckfield with 10 runners and overalll the joint Uckfield/Heathfield team finished 4th out of the 12 teams reinforcing our position in 4th place after 5 races with 1 race to go. Running from Uckfield were: Jamie Keddie, Richard Coates, Lee Adams, Graham West, Max Williams, Jason Remington, Catherine Harker, Chris Lugg, Tanya Edmondson and Christine Tait. Also thanks to those members who helped with marshalling.
This was also the day of the Worthing half marathon which Jo Thornon and Dayle Bryant ran.
